About us
Our parent company MarcWines is a wine trading company based in France and registered as a wine and alcohol exporter with the French customs. MarcWines maintains a very tight network of suppliers in France and abroad. These relations allow us special wine allocations and a constant access to rare and highly sought after wines at attractive prices. Presentation of owner and events host Marc Betting
Born in 1970 in Strasbourg, France, Marc Betting, is Franco-American and holds the postgraduate Diploma in International Wine Trade and Wine Knowledge (Connaissance et Commerce International des Vins) from the ENESAD viticulture school of Dijon. He was trained by famous wine professionals including: viticulture teacher, Jean-Yves Bizot, winemaker and owner of the patronymic domain in Vosne-Romanée; oenology teacher, Jean-Pierre Confuron, President of French Oenology Association, winemaker at Confuron-Cotetidot, at Maison Chanson and at Château de la Tour; and degustation teacher, Jean-Pierre Renard, world renowned for animating prestigious tastings, wine writer and great Burgundy specialist.
Alsatian by birth, Marc Betting discovered his passion for tastes and aromas early. He enjoyed the conviviality of food and wine during large regional family events. His passion and professional interest for wine started during his business studies in 1990, after he visited a winemakers' gathering. This interest then cultivated during his eight years in San Francisco, where he discovered and explored Californian wines and wines from the world.
Today, along with managing MarcWines, Marc provides trainings at the viticulture school of Beaune (CFPPA) and regularly participates in official tasting panels and in selection juries.
